Known as the “Google of Sugar Land,” HCSS was founded in 1986 and is a leader in developing and providing innovative software solutions for construction companies. The company has a significant tech presence and is recognized as a pioneer in the industry. HCSS is also a leader in wellness, making it a highly attractive anchor for Sugar Land’s steadily expanding tech community.
The Location Project
Since 2009, HCSS corporate headquarters have been located on a 12-acre campus in Sugar Land, eager to tap into the city’s highly educated and diverse workforce. A second building was added to the campus in 2015 to accommodate the company’s steady growth and expanding customer base. The new Google-inspired office was designed by Studio RED architects as a collaborative work environment, bringing an additional 15,400 square feet of workspace. The building’s quirky and colorful office features an adult slide, a climbing cargo net and is specifically designed to provide HCSS software developers with an enjoyable work environment.
As one of the large corporations in the Houston area, HCSS has solidified its position as a major contributor to the construction and manufacturing industries, finding tremendous success in attracting and retaining new talent to Sugar Land by pairing growth opportunities with an ideal location.
Establishing Roots for Future Growth
In 2020, the company made a $12 million capital investment in a new 56,000-square-foot office building to complement the firm’s two existing buildings on the 12-acre campus. With the constant expansion of its products and customer base, HCSS has grown from 375 to 425 employees in the last 2 years.
In 2021, HCSS was acquired by Thoma Bravo, one of the largest private equity firms in the world. The partnership will allow the firm to grow even further, nearly doubling its employee headcount and multiplying its revenue three to four times before the end of 2026. HCSS plans to continue its expansion in Sugar Land, complimenting the city’s rapidly growing business footprint while simultaneously improving quality of life for the growing population and workforce.
“We are excited to call Sugar Land home and to bring hundreds of new jobs to the area,” said HCSS Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Customers Solutions, Tom Webb. “The addition of this new building to our campus will both allow us to grow as well as add even more elements to help our employees feel connected, strengthening our customer service culture."
