Testing Sites
United Memorial Medical Center (UMMC) is conducting FREE drive-through COVID-19 testing at Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land, 18111 Lexington Blvd Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
UMMC has the capacity to administer 150 to 200 tests daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Once they've reached the number of vehicles they can accommodate during this period of time, the gates will be closed and they'll continue testing those that are lined up in the parking lot. Tuesday was the first day of testing and they did reach capacity before 10 a.m.
Anyone experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms such as temperatures exceeding 100, shortness of breath and dry/persistent coughs may be tested at the site. According to United Memorial, test results may take up to three days due to the current surge in lab testing; however, everyone will be called by the hospital whether they test positive or negative.
To accommodate efficient flow of traffic through the site, Oxbow at Lexington will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the testing operations.
To access the test, motorists traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 59 should exit University Boulevard, take the turn-around under the freeway overpass to the northbound frontage road and turn right on Taborwood Avenue.
