Sugar Land Legacy Awards



In recognition of the continued growth and commitment by the Sugar Land business community, the City of Sugar Land - Office of Economic Development in partnership with the Sugar Land Legacy Foundation is seeking nominations for the Sugar Land Legacy Award.  The Sugar Land Legacy Award will honor outstanding individuals and organizations whose efforts have made a significant, lasting impact on economic development and the overall economic prosperity in the City of Sugar Land.  The Sugar Land Legacy Foundation Board of Directors will select recipients from nominations based on their commitment, business experience, tenure, service and leadership in Sugar Land.

Eligibility and Qualifications
All candidates should have:
1.       Lived, worked, invested or volunteered  in Sugar Land for a minimum of 15 years
2.       Demonstrated a track record of playing a pivotal role in the success of their respective organizations efforts in Sugar Land
3.       Commitment to economic development within Sugar Land and the region
4.       Exhibited leadership in the Sugar Land community
5.       Worked to develop new leaders for the future of Sugar Land and the region

Additional bonus attributes can include:
1.       Service on non-profit  boards and commissions
2.       Promoting Sugar Land on a national or international level

1.       Be based or operated in Sugar Land for a minimum of 10 years and still in operation
2.       Demonstrate a consistent and increasing organization performance
3.       Commitment to economic development within Sugar Land and the region

1.       Support and participation in City planning processes
2.       Support of local higher education and workforce development
3.       Mentorship of small businesses
4.       Investment in innovative products or services that benefit the Sugar Land community
5.       Philanthropic involvement in Sugar Land or Fort Bend County
6.       Promoting Sugar Land on a national or international level

About The Sugar Land Legacy Foundation

The Sugar Land Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)3 working to leave a legacy by enhancing Sugar Land's quality of life. The foundation works with individuals, corporations, trusts and other foundations interested in making sustainable, charitable, tax deductible donations in order to financially support or facilitate support for activities and capital projects that benefit residents of Sugar Land.
