Sugar Land businesses are also subject to specific taxes from a variety of other entities dependent upon where in the community the company chooses to locate.

Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs)
MUDs located throughout the City of Sugar Land provide water and solid waste management services. Funds are collected through additional property taxes and bonds for water and sewer facilities.  Map of City of Sugar Land MUDs

Levee Improvement Districts (LIDs)

LIDs provide drainage improvements. Funds are collected in a similar manner to MUDs.
 

Central Appraisal District (CAD)

Based on market values on January 1st each year, the Fort Bend Central Appraisal District determines property taxes for Sugar Land sites and buildings
