The City of Sugar Land Development Review Committee meets with all perspective developers in an effort to shepherd, streamline and simplify the development process. Each week, at a pre-development meeting, this committee brings different groups and perspectives together around one table, as one point of entry to keep projects organized and on track. The purpose of the pre-development meeting is to meet the City staff who will be involved with a project’s development. The staff will identify issues, processes and/or necessary permits that will require further analysis for development. Along with the discussion of these major issues, the staff will talk about the development process, distribute necessary information and discuss what permits will be required for your particular development.

The meeting is in no way a complete review of a project. The staff will perform a formal thorough review once the minimum requirements are submitted for a particular development.

The pre-development meeting is simply a service the City offers to ensure progress and a process that should be followed to achieve success.
