It is made up of 140 employees who are dedicated to improving the life of the citizens of the City of Sugar Land by reducing crime and making Sugar Land the safest place to live in the United States.

The Sugar Land Police Department is recognized for its professionalism, excellence and competence. It is distinguished as a nationally accredited law enforcement agency through the Commission for the Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
